Ivan Sampson is a United States Soccer Federation D License coach and holds certificates from Empoli FC in Italy and the NSCAA Regional Coaching Diploma. A native of Trinidad & Tobago, Sampson is a graduate of James Madison University where he played college ball. After graduating from JMU, he trained with Reading and Queens Park Rangers in England and was a member of the USISL Roanoke Riverdawgs. He also played for the Maryland Mania A League team.
Sampson has also coached at several top clubs in the states of Maryland and Virginia including Potomac Soccer Association (PSA) where he worked with U-9, U-10, and U-13 Boys CCL teams. He was the Director of Striker Programs and a Senior Head Coach at PSA, where he oversaw the planning and delivery of high quality coaching sessions specifically for Strikers. Sampson was also the Director of Youth Prograsm at the Sportsplex Management Group in Virginia. He has been a staff coach at the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) Olympic Development Program (ODP), and has worked at St. Mary’s Soccer Club as a technical trainer as well as for Loudon Soccer Club, FC CASA, and Damascus Soccer Club to name a few.
Sampson also holds a certificate of training from Empoli Football Club in Italy and is also the Founder of Sampson Soccer, a multi-faceted company that focuses on a variety of youth soccer components ranging from coaching placement to training.
